When asked about citizenship and taking the oath, David told LA Times: "I hope so, one day, it would be nice. Our boys go to school here. They're happy here. As long as they continue to be happy here, my wife's happy here, then we plan on staying."
The Beckhams currently live in Beverly Hills since 2007, and have become full-blown Americans, with their sons attending traditional basketball and baseball games with their folks; they were even seen singing the Star Spangled Banner anthem with hand on heart at an LA Galaxy game (the team that David plays for) in October. We can't help but think that the famous footballer's sons might have been on there way to becoming famous football stars, playing football at the heart of where their Dad flourished had they been in London.
But, regardless of all this citizenship talk, Beckham insists he'll always be a Brit at heart. "I'm English born and bred and that's the way I'll always be. I'm an Englishman, you know."
